27 South Pine Street in Kingston invites neighbors, volunteers, experienced and curious gardeners, to help steward this small farmland. South Pine Street Farm is one of several community gardens and green spaces supported by our Grow Well Kingston Focus Team.
For the last eight seasons, Joel Zenie and Trish Hawkins have grown greens, herbs, onions, cukes, squash, cabbage, legumes, lettuce and tomatoes at South Pine Street City Farm. “City Farm” in this case is another way of saying “Urban Farm.” The Farm is on land donated every year by the Binnewater Ice Company. Thank you, Binnewater Ice!! The Farm is on about a quarter acre of land and is surrounded on two sides by trees, including one very large tree near the back of the lot.
Garden Stewards Joel & Trish can provide you with a free plot for growing, use of tools, hands-on guidance and educational support. With your commitment, we hope to operate a neighborhood farm stand on Tuesdays, 4-7pm. Support our local community garden and enjoy fresh, healthy food. To get involved, call or text Joel at (845) 399 – 8882
