“Complete Streets” is a term used to describe ordinary city streets that are designed to encourage people of all ages and abilities, by any mode of transportation, to use them. The more than 86 miles of local roads within the City are some of the most heavily used public spaces in the City.
Kingston’s Common Council created the Complete Streets Advisory Council in late 2010. The group is charged with advising the City on ways Kingston can implement Complete Streets principles in its planning, design, and construction activities.
The Complete Streets Advisory Council’s agenda and notes can be found on the City’s website calendar: www.kingston-ny.gov.
The Council meets monthly on the second Wednesday, 4pm, in Conference Room 1, top floor of City Hall, 420 Broadway, Kingston, NY. Meetings can also be viewed on the City’s YouTube channel: www.youtube.com/c/CityofKingstonNY/videos.

They do this by: bringing together the focus teams, or subcommittees, Age Well, Eat Well, Grow Well, Play Well, Travel Well; monitoring public health trends; setting strategic direction and goals; and leading communications. Come Meet Kingston’s Newest Trees and Give Them Some Help!
Join the City of Kingston Urban Forester for an informative tour about the native trees and perennials planted in Kingston’s new Post Office Park! Attendees can learn about species, historical tree facts, as well as the benefits trees provide to pollinators, birds, and our community!
The 90 minute tour will end with a guided, optional, 30-minute tree water bag installation to help the new trees grow! Tour will continue in light rain and be postponed for heavier storms. Gardening gloves will be available for up to 20 volunteers to install water bags.
