Please join us for a special presentation at our April Eat Well meeting from Brianna Merrill of the Hudson Valley AgriBusiness Development Corporation (HVADC). She will be presenting on her work at HVADC, including FeedHV, a regional food rescue program that uses technology to link food donors of prepared but unserved food and fresh produce (including farms, restaurants, catering services, grocery stores, hospitals, universities, corporations and more) to nonprofit organizations with food assistance programs (such as food pantries, soup kitchens and shelters) through the efforts of a network of volunteers who transport, harvest and process donated food.
Eat Well is a focus team of Live Well Kingston that develops, implement and/or support policy, systems and environmental change by supporting and promoting local efforts to improve access to healthy foods throughout the community.
Our partners include farmers, chefs, teachers, artists, nutrition educators, dietitians, parents, non-profit and for-profit organizations, communicators, systems changers, volunteer organizations, private businesses, health practitioners, nurses, doctors and most importantly: YOU.
Our Vision– Everyone is food secure and healthy eating is the norm in our city
Our Mission– To unite the City of Kingston in developing and sustaining a locally based, resilient food system for all
Our Values– Inclusion, Resiliency, Community, Environment, Participation and Empowerment
