The South Pine Street City Farm is an urban farm located in the Hudson Valley’s Kingston, NY. On a 1/4 acre lot, we grow produce destined for our city’s tables. We strive to provide nutritious and delicious vegetables grown minutes from their destination using responsible and regenerative growing practices.

OPEN FROM 3 TO 7 PM ON MONDAYS, WEDNESDAYS, AND FRIDAYS; and the same days but from 3 TO 6 throughout October and early November. Farm-stand will remain open through November 3rd, 2017, possibly for a week or two longer if weather permits.

The Kingston YMCA Farm Project’s mission is to educate and empower young people by directly engaging them in sustainable food production on an urban farm. Participants will learn and practice the skills needed to produce their own food and to make healthy choices throughout their lifetime, while increasing the community’s access to fresh produce. www.kingstonymcafarmproject.org

Our “Your Choice” Food Pantry supplies fresh, frozen, canned and boxed food that equals at least three days’ worth of meals to our needy community. We aim to offer a balanced diet of fruits, vegetables, proteins and whole grains based on the USDA healthy food guidelines. When visiting the food pantry individuals are encouraged to select the foods which are right for their family, rather than receiving pre-packed bags. Recipients can visit the “Your Choice” Food Pantry once a month; however, they can also visit our “Fresh Bounty” area and choose free food items daily. All food is provided free of charge. Last year we provided over 300,000 free meals to our neighbors in need.

This program provides additional breakfast and lunch foods for families with school age children in Ulster County. It begins at the end of school in June and runs until school begins in September. Parents/guardians can visit us once per week to get this bag of groceries (which changes each week). We also offer Bag Holiday Hunger which is the same program the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day.

CCEUC offers nutrition education to the public through two programs. Both programs work to help participants make healthy lifestyle choices, by planning nutritious meals, stretching their food dollars and encouraging more physical activity.

Eat Smart New York (ESNY) is FREE to all individuals who qualify for, and/or receive benefits through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

Expanded Food & Nutritional Education Program (EFNEP) is designed to assist limited resource audiences; families working to make ends meet.

(FREE PDF) Good and Cheap is a gorgeous cookbook for people with limited income, particularly on a $4/day food stamps budget. The PDF is free (ahora en Español!) and has been downloaded over 1,000,000 times.

Meet Jenna, your nutrition expert at the ShopRite of Kingston. Jenna is a registered dietitian who can help you accomplish your health goals and discover new foods for better eating. Jenna provides complimentary nutrition services both in-store and in the community. She provides free nutritional counseling, store tours, and in-store classes and events.
