Susanne Callahan has been dedicated to public and community health, focusing on the needs of medically underserved communities for over 30 years. Her earlier work focused on health education and health promotion, particularly in the areas of women’s reproductive health and adolescent health. Currently she serves as the vice president for planning and community engagement for the Institute for Family Health, a non-profit federally qualified health center network with sites and programs in New York City, Ulster and Dutchess Counties. She is fluent in Spanish and volunteers for several local programs that provide supportive and educational services to immigrants. Susanne is an avid hiker and spends as much time outside as possible.
