Rose Quinn

Rose Quinn currently works for the Mid-Hudson Health and Safety Institute at SUNY Ulster as a Traffic Safety Assistant. She has many years of experience as an educator and counselor for the Ulster BOCES Adult Career Education Center, serving as an advocate and teacher in the Ulster BOCES adult literacy and high school programs. A seasoned educator, she has worked as an English as a second language and high school equivalency teacher in community classes throughout Ulster County. Rose has done extensive community building and partnership work in the City of Kingston. She is a key administrator for the Literacy Zone, a grant funded project offered though the New York State Department of Education, which focuses on removing the barriers to success faced by adult learners. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree from SUNY New Paltz in Secondary Education, and previously worked as a high school social studies teacher and consoler at the Ulster BOCES Career and Technical and Alternative Education high schools. Her community work includes serving as the meeting coordinator for the Mano a Mano coalition of Ulster County, which focuses on service agency networking to provide advocacy bring educational opportunities to the county’s Latino community. In her spare time, Rose is busying herself with getting acquainted with her new community in Kingston. She is an avid bicycle enthusiast and is currently training for her first Century Ride. She has one daughter who is currently attending her mom’s Alma mater, SUNY New Paltz
