Kingston’s Common Council created the Complete Streets Advisory Council in late 2010. The group is charged with advising the city on ways Kingston can implement Complete Streets principles in its planning, design and construction activities.
“Complete Streets” is a term used to describe ordinary city streets that are designed to allow people of all ages and abilities to:
- walk
- bike
- take the bus
- and drive less
By “completing the street” to encourage movement, kids, grandparents, adults of all ages can be active, healthy and feel connected to their neighborhoods.
The meetings are open to the public, and there is a public comment period at the beginning of each meeting. The Complete Streets Advisory Council is currently seeking new members. To apply, contact the Chair Tom Polk.
