Please join us for a working meeting on Tuesday, November 12th at 10am to start development of Eat Well’s 2025 Action Plan. This meeting will include facilitated brainstorming and consensus-building activities led by the Eat Well Chair, Ninette Warner, and City of Kingston staff liaison, Kristin Kessler. Join to have a voice in the future of Eat Well!
Eat Well is a focus team of Live Well Kingston that develops, implement and/or support policy, systems and environmental change by supporting and promoting local efforts to improve access to healthy foods throughout the community.
Our partners include farmers, chefs, teachers, artists, nutrition educators, dietitians, parents, non-profit and for-profit organizations, communicators, systems changers, volunteer organizations, private businesses, health practitioners, nurses, doctors and most importantly: YOU.
Our Vision– Everyone is food secure and healthy eating is the norm in our city
Our Mission– To unite the City of Kingston in developing and sustaining a locally based, resilient food system for all

Join SNAP-Ed Nutrition Educator Mary Brimmer for two classes on Food Waste Reduction! Together we’ll discuss ways to stretch your produce, proper food storage, food safety and understanding codes and expiration dates. A budget and time friendly recipe will be demonstrated, and participants will enjoy a tasting of the dish. Attendees who come to both sessions will receive a door prize to assist with food prep and storage.
Who: SNAP-eligible or resource-limited community members
What: FREE nutrition workshops and recipe tasting
Where: People’s Place Wellness Empowerment Center, 775 Broadway, Kingston, NY 12401
When: November 15 at 2:45-3:45pm

Join Chef Jodi Rae of Full Heart Foods as we celebrate our Kingston Eats veggie and fruit of the month, winter squash and citrus, with this FREE hands-on cooking experience that’s fit for the whole family! A quick, flavorful and nutrient dense weeknight dish, it’s the perfect soup and salad combo to keep you nourished through the holidays.
This workshop is family friendly for children 7 years old and up with an adult.
Please arrive by 5:15pm to complete pre-workshop paperwork so that we may start promptly at 5:30pm.
